Energiequelle GmbH has commissioned a new wind turbine in Ludwigsfelde, located in the Teltow-Fläming district of Brandenburg. The Enercon E-138 turbine, with a hub height of 160 meters and an output of 4.2 MW, is situated on a former landfill site and will generate electricity for approximately 5,000 households.
The project received approval in March 2023, overcoming a rejected appeal and legal proceedings before construction began in February 2024. The turbine has now delivered its first kilowatt hour to the grid, marking a milestone as the 808th wind turbine installed by Energiequelle. Since its inception in 1997, the company has connected over 1,700 MW of renewable energy capacity across Europe. Erik Klaus, Project Manager at Energiequelle GmbH,said: ‘The commissioning of the new wind turbine is a significant milestone. The successful realisation shows the determination and commitment of everyone involved.’
