Suzlon and Torrent Power Achieve 1 GW Wind Energy Milestone with 486 MW Hybrid Order

Suzlon Group and Torrent Power Ltd. have reached a significant milestone, powering 1 GW of wind energy in India through a new 486 MW hybrid order. This collaboration supports India’s renewable energy targets, including achieving 50% of electricity generation from renewable sources, while promoting the Make in India initiative.

Agreement Details

As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply 162 advanced S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a 3 MW capacity, installed on Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT) in Gujarat’s Bhogat region. The turbines are designed to deliver optimal performance even in low-wind conditions.

Leaders Highlight the Achievement

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed pride in the partnership with Torrent Power. “Our decade-long collaboration has culminated in a remarkable 1 GW of cumulative orders across Gujarat and Karnataka. This partnership is built on trust, innovation, and a shared vision of delivering quality power to nearly 1 million households. Together, we are committed to driving India’s energy transition and building a sustainable future,” he said.

JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, highlighted the success of the S144 wind turbine in contributing to this milestone. “Torrent Power has been a valued long-term partner.
