UKA Group Expands Wind Portfolio with 900 MW of New Project Acquisitions and Investments in Germany

The UKA Group has acquired or invested in wind energy projects with a combined capacity of approximately 900 MW across Germany during the first half of 2026, strengthening its renewable energy portfolio amid growing consolidation in the country’s wind sector.

The newly added projects are located across Germany and are primarily in the early to mid-stages of development. They complement UKA’s existing portfolio, which includes around 1.5 GW of wind capacity currently under construction.

According to the company, the acquisitions come at a time when rising development costs, tighter financing conditions and declining tender revenues are prompting many wind project developers to seek strategic partners or buyers.

“The market is currently undergoing a shake-up. Developers with a wind project in the pipeline today are grappling with rising costs, tighter financing conditions and declining tender revenues. So for many developers it makes financial sense to bring a strong partner on board—whether to collaborate on their project or to agree on a full acquisition,” said Stefan Kath, Managing Director of the UKA Group.

Kath added that UKA has secured framework agreements at gigawatt scale with wind turbine manufacturers and other project partners while also achieving success in oversubscribed bidding rounds, enabling the company to support developers throughout the project lifecycle.

The company said developers considering project sales or partnerships often cite liquidity constraints, limited workforce capacity and the desire to reduce construction and operational risks as key reasons for seeking collaboration. UKA stated that its in-house expertise in grid connection, project development and financing allows it to support projects through every stage while maintaining established relationships with municipalities, landowners and financing partners.

As an owner-managed company with more than 26 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, UKA holds an “excellent” credit rating from Creditreform and operates offices across Germany’s major federal states.

Over the past two years, the company has also secured binding orders for wind turbines with a combined capacity of nearly 2 GW, providing procurement certainty for projects entering its portfolio.

UKA said its streamlined acquisition process and long-term development strategy are aimed at accelerating wind energy deployment, with the company targeting the commissioning of more than 1 GW of wind power capacity annually over the medium term.
