Envision Energy Secures 200 MW Nearshore Wind Project in Vietnam with REE Energy

Global green technology company Envision Energy has secured a major contract to supply wind turbines for a 200 MW nearshore wind project in Vietnam. The Phu Cuong 1A and 1B wind farms are being developed in partnership with REE Energy, one of Vietnam’s leading renewable energy investors. The project marks Envision’s largest wind energy venture in Vietnam and also its biggest overseas nearshore wind project to date.

The project will use 25 EN-226/8.X YE wind turbines, which have been specially designed for low- to medium-wind marine conditions commonly found in Southeast Asia. These advanced turbines are expected to improve energy generation while ensuring reliable long-term operation in challenging coastal environments.

According to the project timeline, shipments of the wind turbines will begin in the second quarter of 2027. The entire 200 MW facility is scheduled to be connected to Vietnam’s national power grid by October 2027, helping increase the country’s renewable energy capacity.

The agreement further strengthens the partnership between Envision Energy and REE Group. The two companies previously worked together on the 128 MW Vinh Long wind project in Vietnam, where turbine deliveries started in early 2026. The successful execution of that project has paved the way for this larger collaboration.

Beyond generating renewable electricity, the Phu Cuong 1A and 1B project is expected to demonstrate best practices in nearshore wind development across Southeast Asia. The companies aim to showcase efficient turbine selection, engineering solutions, and long-term maintenance strategies that are suited to regional marine conditions.

The project also supports Envision Energy’s broader strategy of building a more resilient and sustainable energy system in Asia. By integrating wind power with energy storage, artificial intelligence, and digital energy management technologies, the company aims to improve the efficiency and reliability of renewable power generation. The development is expected to contribute to Vietnam’s clean energy transition while promoting higher standards for future nearshore and offshore wind projects across the region.
