ERG, Italy’s leading independent operator of renewable energy, has placed a 101MW order for Mineo Militello Vizzini wind park, which will be located in Sicily. The contract covers the supply and installation 24 V136-4.2 MW turbines, as well as a multi-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000), service agreement.

We are delighted to announce our partnership for this project with ERG, which is the largest we have signed in the past fifteen years in Italy. Francesco Amati, Vestas Head for Italy, said that this signature highlights the versatility and power of the 4MW platform. It also adds more 100 MW to the Italian energy mix. This supports the country’s energy transition toward a more sustainable future.

The Turbine delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023 while commissioning will occur in the second half of 2023.

This project will add to the more than 5.4 GW wind turbines currently under construction or installed by Vestas Italy, which has a market share greater than 40 percent.
