Breesea Limited, Soundmark Wind Limited, and Sonningmay Wind Limited, a 50/50 joint venture owned by Ørsted and AXA IM Alts and Crédit Agricole Assurances, have signed an agreement to sell their transmission assets to Diamond Transmission Partners Hornsea Two Limited (‘DTP’).

Hornsea 2 is an offshore wind farm situated in the UK, situated roughly 90 km off the Yorkshire coast in the North Sea. With 165 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines, the farm has an overall capacity of 1,320 MW, capable of powering over 1.4 million British homes.

DTP is a partnership venture between  Diamond Transmission Corporation Limited and HICL Infrastructure PLC. Ørsted has entered into a long-term agreement to offer operations and maintenance services for the transmission assets to DTP.

The divestment will be as per the offshore transmission owner regime. Back in September 2022, following a competitive tender process, Ofgem designated DTP as the preferred bidder for the offshore transmission license of the Hornsea 2 Offshore Wind Farm.
