NTPC Limited, a prominent government enterprise, has initiated an International Competitive Bidding process for the selection of wind power generators to supply 1000 MW of power from ISTS-connected wind power projects in India. This significant move, known as NTPC-Tranche-III, is conducted on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis.
The Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by NTPC invites eligible bidders to participate in this process, which follows a Single Stage Two Envelope structure consisting of a Technical Bid (Envelope-I) and a Financial Bid (Envelope-II).
Interested parties can access detailed terms and conditions in the Request for Selection (RfS) documents which are available for examination and downloading on the e-Tender Portal. The timeline for key activities in this bidding process is as follows:

- A Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for November 14, 2023, which is also the last date for prospective bidders to submit their queries.
- The deadline for receipt of bids, which should include both the Technical and Financial Bids, is November 21, 2023, at 14:00:00 IST.
- The opening of the Technical Bids is set to occur on the same day at 14:30:00 IST.
- For participation in the bidding process, bidders must provide an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD), calculated at the rate of INR 13.86 Lakh per MW.
This initiative by NTPC signifies a significant step towards harnessing wind energy to meet the country’s power requirements and drive sustainable energy development in India.
