Vibrant Energy, a provider of corporate renewable energy solutions, has solidified its collaboration with Amazon by signing a third power purchase agreement (PPA). The agreement pertains to a newly commissioned 198 MW wind farm located in Osmanabad, Maharashtra, India. This move underscores the continued commitment of both companies to sustainable energy initiatives.
Amazon had previously unveiled its association with Vibrant Energy last year, marking their entry into the Indian renewable energy landscape through two wind-solar hybrid projects. With the addition of this wind project, Amazon’s total renewable energy capacity in India has now surged past a significant 1.1 GW. This milestone further cements Amazon’s position as the largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy in the Indian market, according to data from Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
Srinivasan Viswanathan, CEO of Vibrant Energy, emphasized the significance of transitioning to renewable energy to combat carbon emissions, highlighting Vibrant’s pivotal role in assisting Indian corporations on their path towards achieving net-zero carbon electricity. He expressed pride in the extended partnership with Amazon, culminating in the development of an additional 198 MW wind project in Maharashtra. This initiative underscores the dedication of both Vibrant Energy and Amazon to promoting a sustainable and greener future.
