NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL), a valued customer of Inox Wind Limited (IWL), has successfully commissioned the first phase of the Dayapar Wind Energy Project in Gujarat, marking a key milestone in their collaboration. The initial capacity commissioned stands at 50 MW, out of the total 150 MW planned for Phase-I of the project, which is located in Dayapar, Bhuj, Gujarat.

As part of this endeavor, Inox Wind has played a pivotal role by supplying and installing 25 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) with a capacity of 2 MW each. These state-of-the-art WTGs feature an impressive 113m rotor diameter and are erected at a hub height of 92m.

Inox Wind’s commitment to NTPC REL goes beyond the installation of these WTGs. Through its subsidiary, Inox Green Energy Services Ltd., the company will provide comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services for the entire 25-year lifecycle of the project. This strategic partnership not only underlines Inox Wind’s capabilities in delivering reliable wind energy solutions but also showcases its dedication to providing ongoing support for the efficient functioning of the wind power project.

The Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-I is of particular significance as it marks the first project of NTPC REL and the first capacity in India declared as commercially operational under the new Indian Electricity Grid Code (IEGC) and General Network Access (GNA) Regime. This achievement highlights the industry’s progress toward adopting modern grid codes and ensuring the seamless integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.

Upon full completion, the Dayapar Wind complex will contribute an impressive 450 MW to NTPC’s existing wind energy portfolio, which currently stands at 100 MW. NTPC, a prominent player in the energy sector, has a substantial renewable energy pipeline, exceeding 20 GW, and is steadfast in its mission to reach a remarkable 60 GW by the year 2032.

Commenting on this milestone, Mr. Kailash Tarachandani, CEO of Inox Wind, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “NTPC REL’s Dayapar project has been an important project for Inox Wind, and we are pleased to have delivered the first 50 MW of the project. We are progressing well to complete the remaining part of NTPC-I (150 MW) project, as well as deliver NTPC-II (200 MW) and NTPC-III (150 MW) projects. We continue to be a long-term and trusted supplier for NTPC and a key partner in their vision of achieving their ambitious Renewable Energy targets.”
