Qualitas Energy, a leading investment and development platform for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, has acquired a wind farm with 32 turbines on the North Sea coast in Lower Saxony, near Cuxhaven, Germany. Originally commissioned in 1998, the turbines have reached the end of their operational life. The site is undergoing an advanced repowering process, replacing the 32 old turbines with five modern ones, boosting the total output from 17.2 MW to 21.6 MW. This upgrade will optimize land use and supply clean wind energy to over 14,000 households. “This acquisition expands our wind energy portfolio with a highly promising project in an excellent wind location,” emphasized Johannes Overbeck, Head of Investment at Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH. “Qualitas Energy is committed to a long-term strategy that seeks to identify opportunities, carefully assess risks and boldly move forward to actively contribute to accelerating the energy transition.”
The acquisition aligns with Qualitas Energy’s broader ambition to invest €1.2 billion in developing a 4 GW wind energy project pipeline in Germany. The company, a part of the Qualitas Energy Group, emphasizes agile and high-quality execution to drive the energy transition. With more than 250 employees across offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Wiesbaden, Trier, Cologne, and Stuttgart, Qualitas Energy Deutschland GmbH is dedicated to advancing a decarbonized economy through onshore wind projects.
