GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business has secured an order to supply 14 4.2MW-117m* turbines for the Iwaya and Shitsukari wind farms, developed by Eurus near Higashidori, Aomori, Japan. The order, finalized in Q4 2024, is part of projects expected to achieve commercial operations in 2028.
These wind farms contribute to Japan’s national goal of increasing renewable energy’s share in the electricity mix from 36% to 38% by 2030, as outlined in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s 6th National Electricity Mix. This marks GE Vernova’s fourth order or milestone in Japan since early 2024, increasing its wind energy supply in the country to 1.8 GW. Gilan Sabatier, Chief Commercial Officer, GE Vernova’s Onshore Wind business said, “We appreciate the trust that Eurus has shown in our GE Vernova technology.
