Vestas has announced a new order in Japan as part of its second-quarter order intake, strengthening its presence in the Asia-Pacific wind energy market.
The order has been placed by M Winds Hachiryu Co., Ltd., a group company of Meidensha Corporation, for the Hachiryu Wind Power Station Repowering Project.
The project has a total capacity of 29 MW and will feature seven V136-4.2 MW turbines. Vestas will also provide a 10-year AOM5000 service agreement as part of the contract.
According to the company, delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028, with commissioning expected later that year.
The order further reinforces Vestas’ role in supporting Japan’s renewable energy transition through repowering and modernization of existing wind assets.
