NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited bids for the supply and installation of wind turbine generators for a large-scale Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) connected wind power project in Karnataka. The project will have a total planned capacity of 813 MW and will be developed in Davangere district using 271 wind turbine generators.
The bidding process will be conducted through a domestic competitive bidding route under a single-stage, two-envelope system. Under this method, techno-commercial bids will be evaluated first, followed by the opening of price bids for qualified participants.
According to the tender document, the selected bidders will be responsible for the complete execution of the project. This includes detailed design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, transportation, erection, installation, testing, and commissioning of the wind turbine generators. The turbines must be selected from the latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Each turbine should have a minimum capacity of 3 MW.
The scope of work also includes establishing guaranteed performance standards for the wind farm, providing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, setting up unit substations for individual wind turbines, and carrying out all required grid connectivity works. In addition, the successful bidder will be required to undertake comprehensive operation and maintenance services for a period of ten years. The O&M scope will cover spare parts, consumables, repairs, maintenance activities, and statutory compliance requirements.
NTPC REL has set a bid security requirement of ₹100 crore. All bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) or Bid Security along with their proposals. Companies opting to make the payment through Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) must submit proof of payment separately. Any bid submitted without the required security will be rejected.
The tender also specifies financial qualification criteria. Interested bidders must demonstrate an average annual turnover of at least ₹106.80 lakh per MW multiplied by the capacity quoted by the bidder during the last three financial years.
The bidding documents will be available for download from June 22, 2026, to July 2, 2026. A pre-bid conference and query submission process is scheduled for July 3, 2026. The deadline for submission of bids is July 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM IST, while the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same day at 3:30 PM IST. Interested companies must submit a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) through the tender portal before the document sale period closes.
