The newly commissioned phase of the wind project has a capacity of 50.4 MW and is located at Nakhatrana in the Kutch district of Gujarat. The project is being developed and operated by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited.
According to the company’s disclosure, the commercial operation of the 50.4 MW capacity became effective from 00:00 hours on July 8, 2026. This marks the first operational phase of the Vanki Wind Energy Project and represents another addition to the company’s growing renewable energy portfolio.

The Vanki Wind Energy Project forms part of NTPC Green Energy’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the wind power sector alongside its large solar energy portfolio. Gujarat, particularly the Kutch region, is one of India’s leading destinations for wind energy development because of its favourable wind resources and supportive infrastructure.
The company communicated the development to the stock exchanges as part of its regulatory disclosure requirements, ensuring that investors and stakeholders are informed of material operational updates. The filing was signed by Deepak C S, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NTPC Green Energy Limited, who requested both NSE and BSE to take the information on record.
