The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has completed the allocation of 2,000 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects under its Tranche XX auction. The tender, announced In April 2026, was conducted through a tariff-based competitive bidding process followed by an e-reverse auction, attracting strong participation from the renewable energy industry.
The projects will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. The selected developers will sign a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI and will be responsible for land acquisition, project development, installation of wind turbines, obtaining all statutory approvals, and connecting the projects to the power grid. Developers were required to bid for a minimum capacity of 50 MW and maintain an annual Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of at least 22%.
The auction received an encouraging response, with 12 companies securing project allocations. The discovered tariffs ranged from ₹3.78 to ₹3.85 per kWh, reflecting strong competition and continued investor confidence in India’s growing wind energy sector.
Gentari Renewables India Castors emerged as the lowest bidder by securing a 200 MW project at a tariff of ₹3.78 per kWh. The remaining successful bidders were awarded projects at a uniform tariff of ₹3.85 per unit.
Ganeko Four Energy and NLC India each secured 200 MW, while Purvah Green Power won 175 MW. Torrent Green Energy received 150 MW, Halvad Renewables secured 130 MW, and Adyant Enersol was awarded 110 MW. Powerica won 100 MW, Refex Green Power secured 80 MW, and Opera Energy, Ayana Renewable Power, and Atriwal Infrastructure were each allocated 50 MW. Ayana Renewable Power is a subsidiary under the joint venture of NTPC Green Energy and ONGC Green.
SECI will act as the intermediary power procurer, purchasing electricity generated by these wind projects and supplying it to distribution utilities across the country. The successful completion of the 2,000 MW auction is expected to support India’s renewable energy expansion, strengthen interstate clean power supply, and contribute to the country’s long-term clean energy and decarbonization goals.
