NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL) has been awarded a contract by SJVN Limited, a joint venture between the Government of India and the state of Himachal Pradesh, to develop and operate a 200 MW wind power project. The project was secured through an e-reverse auction at a tariff of ₹3.74 per kWh on February 28.

According to an official statement, NLCIL has received the Letter of Award from SJVN, and the project is expected to generate 526 million units of renewable energy annually, reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with India’s sustainability goals.

This development strengthens NLCIL’s position in India’s renewable energy sector, contributing to its target of achieving 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. The project will also expand the company’s wind energy portfolio, pushing its total wind power capacity beyond 300 MW.
