The Nordex Group has secured an order from Swedish renewable energy developer OX2 to supply and install 11 N175/6.X wind turbines for the 77 MW Urleasca Wind Farm in Romania.
The contract also includes a 35-year Premium Service agreement, under which Nordex will provide long-term maintenance and operational support for the project.
In a parallel transaction, OX2 has completed the sale of the 77 MW ready-to-build Urleasca wind farm to Norwegian renewable energy company Scatec ASA. Despite the ownership transfer, OX2 will continue to oversee the project’s engineering and construction activities.
Construction of the wind farm is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning expected in the second half of 2028. The project benefits from a long-term Contract-for-Difference (CfD) with the Romanian government, providing revenue stability for the renewable energy facility.
The Urleasca Wind Farm will be developed near the village of Urleasca in Brăila County, approximately 150 kilometres northeast of Bucharest in southeastern Romania.
Commenting on the order, Slava Feklin, Country Manager Romania and Ukraine at the Nordex Group, said the project strengthens the company’s long-standing collaboration with OX2 while expanding the deployment of advanced wind energy technology in Romania. He noted that the combination of OX2’s project development expertise and Nordex’s latest N175/6.X turbine technology will support the delivery of efficient and competitive renewable electricity to the Romanian market.
According to Nordex, the Urleasca project further strengthens its presence in Romania, where the company has secured contracts for more than 500 MW of wind energy capacity in recent months.
